If I were a teacher
If I were a teacher
would I want gifts and flowers
on an annual Teachers Day?
Would I smile if students
showed me their diligence
and flash their string of A’s?
Would I be happy
if my students become wealthy
and are on top of the world?
Will that same student
allow his children
to take over my role?
It’s very easy to say
Happy Teachers Day
without truly noticing
that teachers are important
that education builds a nation
why won’t the brilliant kids do the teaching?

Hopefully those brilliant kids want to be a teacher. But remember not every one even those the brilliant can do the teaching. Only certain people can do the teaching job.
